I've been talking with a lot of the "Eco-friendly" sorts. I've been tipped off to a lot of things and have picked up a few of my own.
I've been trying my hand at making our own cloth diapers for Tyler. They are super cute and cuddly! I've made mostly covers- fleece soakers to be specific. I've just started doing prefolds and tomorrow will try my hand at pockets. I'm hoping this works- I'll save a TON more $ on diapers this way!

I'm also interested in starting to make our own laundry soap, and have started using more natural cleaners. You know the sorts- vinegar and water, some essential oils, castile soap. The best cleaning product I started using is castile soap and baking soda- mixed together to make a frosting texture- it's a homemade soft scrub of sorts- and no bleach!! Yea! I just dyed a few shirts in the stainless steel sink the other night. The directions on the dye said to "immediately clean the sink with bleach". I hate bleach so I thought I'd try this soft scrub mixture... my sink has NEVER been so clean before! It shined!! Guess I'll be adding the castile soap into that cleaning regime (I used to use just baking soda).
Today I decided to try a recommended hair wash, well conditioner. I washed my hair as usual (using castile soap actually), rinsed, then poured diluted apple cider vinegar on my hair, let it sit for a minute then rinsed out really well. My hair is so soft, dried faster than usual, and I was able to run my fingers through it without brushing it first!! It doesn't smell like vinegar either! I think I will give my sister my huge bottle of conditioner and replace it with a bottle of ACV
I'm going to become addicted to these natural and cheap beauty fixes!
Until next time....
